# How do I delete, duplicate, or leave a trip?

What you can do with a trip depends on whether you own it or are a member on it. Owners can delete or duplicate a trip; members who aren't the owner can leave it.

###### Deleting a trip

||| Deleting a trip is permanent. There is no trash and no way to recover it afterwards.

**Stippl mobile app:**
1. Open the trip menu (top-right corner) and tap **Settings**.
2. On the Trip settings screen, scroll down and tap **Delete trip**.
3. Confirm with **Delete**.

**Stippl web version:**
1. Open the menu on the trip card.
2. Choose **Delete** (owner only).
3. Confirm the deletion.

If the trip has active hotel bookings, Stippl will ask you to acknowledge them before the deletion goes through.

###### Duplicating a trip
In the app, open the trip menu and choose **Copy trip**. You can pick what to include in the copy: accommodations, activities, transport, notes, and expenses. The copy is created in the background, so you can keep using the app while it finishes.

On web, you can also copy a trip that's been shared with you into your own account, directly from its share view.

###### Leaving a trip
If you're a member of a trip but not the owner, open the trip menu and choose **Leave trip**. You can rejoin at any time by opening the trip's invite link again. If you're still a member when you open it, you'll see **Go to trip** instead of an option to join.
