How do I use Stippl in ChatGPT or Claude?

Plan a trip in ChatGPT or Claude, then save it to your Stippl account in one step. Stippl turns the plan into a real trip: dated days, your destinations on the map, and each place looked up with its address and photos. You keep planning in the Stippl app or on stippl.io.


Connect Stippl in Claude (web or desktop app)

  1. Open Stippl Travel Planner in the Claude directory: https://claude.ai/directory/stippl. You can also go to Customize, then Connectors, and search for "Stippl Travel Planner".
  2. Click Connect.


Don't see it? Add it yourself: go to Customize, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter https://www.stippl.io/api/mcp and click Connect.


Connect Stippl in ChatGPT

  1. Open Plugins in the sidebar and click Add (top right), then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Stippl, enter https://www.stippl.io/api/mcp as the Server URL and choose OAuth as Authentication.
  3. Tick "I understand and want to continue".
  4. Wait a few seconds, then click Create and continue to Stippl. ChatGPT needs a moment to check the address. If you click Create right away, connecting can fail with "This app does not provide a browser setup URL right now". If that happens, remove Stippl and add it again.


Sign in
A Stippl page opens. Sign in, or create an account (a new account picks a username). Click Allow and you are back in your chat. You only do this once.


What you can ask

  • Save a trip: "Plan a 4-day trip to Lisbon starting 15 May 2027 and save it to Stippl."
  • See your trips: "Show my Stippl trips."
  • Add places to a day: "Add Time Out Market and LX Factory to day 2 of my Lisbon trip."
  • Replace a day: "Replace day 3 of my Lisbon trip with Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery." The assistant asks you to confirm first. A hotel on that day stays.
  • Make a day trip: "Make day 4 of my Lisbon trip a day trip to Sintra." Sintra is added as a stop on that day, between your nights in Lisbon.


Tips

  • Saying "save it to Stippl" is the surest way to get the assistant to use Stippl. Once it has, you can refer to the trip by name.
  • In ChatGPT, select Stippl with @ in your message when you want to change a day (add places, replace a day or make a day trip). Type @, pick Stippl, then write your request. Without it, ChatGPT may answer that it can only read your trips.
  • No trip link in the reply? Ask for it, or open the trip in Stippl. It is in your trip list right away.


Good to know

  • A trip needs an exact start date. If your plan has none, the assistant asks for it.
  • If Stippl can't find a place by its name, the assistant tells you which one. Nothing is made up.
  • A trip saved this way is a normal Stippl trip. Change anything you like in Stippl, on the web or in the app.
  • The assistant can't delete trips, change a trip's dates or destinations, or book or pay for anything. Do that in Stippl.
  • You can save up to 20 new trips and make up to 100 day changes per day.


Disconnect

  • Claude: go to Customize, then Connectors, and disconnect Stippl there.
  • ChatGPT: open Settings, then Plugins, select Stippl and choose Disconnect.


The connection also ends when you change your Stippl password or delete your account, after 90 days without use, and after 365 days at most. You can connect again at any time.


Privacy
Stippl only receives what the assistant sends to save or change your trip: the trip name, start date, destinations, and the places, times and notes for each day. We don't see your conversation. Read more in the "ChatGPT and Claude" section of our privacy policy: https://www.stippl.io/privacy
