How to remove a placeholder from your trip plan?

A placeholder marks a gap in your itinerary when there's unassigned time between destinations. It guides you through trip planning by highlighting days that still need a destination.

Why do placeholders appear?

Placeholders are automatically generated in these scenarios:

  1. Locked dates + adjusted nights: You've locked the dates for one destination, then changed the number of nights at other destinations, creating an unassigned gap.
  2. Edited stay dates: You modified the check-in or check-out date of one or more destinations, leaving days before or after without assignment.

Removing or resolving a placeholder

You have three options to clear a placeholder from your schedule:

  1. Assign a destination
  • Tap the placeholder block in your planner.
  • Select a destination for the placeholder.
  • Optionally enrich it with accommodation and activities afterward.

  1. Adjust nights on adjacent destinations
  • Identify which destination's night count is causing the gap.
  • Tap the "+" or "-" controls on that destination to increase or decrease nights.
  • The placeholder's duration will automatically shrink or disappear as you rebalance your itinerary.

  1. Unlock the locked destination
  • Swipe right on the locked destination adjacent to the placeholder.
  • Tap Unlock to make its dates editable again.
