What to do if I see "Unable to Activate eSIM"?

The "Unable to Activate eSIM" error usually occurs when iOS cannot complete the eSIM provisioning process.

Common causes:
  • Poor or unstable internet connection during installation
  • The eSIM has already been installed or used
  • Your device is not connected to Wi-Fi

What to do:

  1. Check your Wi-Fi connection
    • Make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection — do not try to install over cellular
    • If your Wi-Fi is unstable, try a different network

  1. Check if the eSIM is already installed
    • Go to Settings > Cellular — if you see a Secondary line, your eSIM was installed successfully
    • Follow the steps in "How to access the internet using your eSIM?" to configure it

  1. Restart and retry
    • Restart your iPhone, reconnect to Wi-Fi, then try the installation again from the Stippl app

  1. Disable VPN
    • Turn off any active VPN before retrying

  1. Try manual installation
    • In the Stippl app: eSIM > your eSIM > Installation instructions > Get started > Not working? Install eSIM manually
    • Follow the manual entry steps using your SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code

If the error persists, contact Stippl support with the email address linked to your Stippl account and we'll investigate.
